xavier is already coo-ing. i love conversing with him when he does. he is already gaining a lot of neck strength...holding his head up better (bumbo, here we come!). speaking of gaining, he's feeling pretty sturdy now! he looks so big already in his car seat. he's also sleeping for longer periods of time. the last few nights, i've had to wake him up at 1 a.m. to feed him because he had already been sleeping for 5 hours. he ate and went right back to sleep. tonight i won't wake him so that i can see how long he'll sleep. all the other boys were sleeping through the night at this point. ("through the night" meaning from midnight to 6 or 7 a.m.)

did i mention that i love him? i love him!

xavier's already 5 weeks old. it has been so busy these last 5 weeks, that the beginning of xavier's life has gone by in a blur. all of a sudden he has a belly that is practically busting through his newborn onesies. at his one month appointment, he was about 9.5 lbs and over 23 inches long.

how can it be that you can love someone so much and all they do is eat, sleep, poop and pee all the while depriving you of sleep and a bit of sanity? i cannot imagine life without him and how much joy we would have missed out on if he hadn't come into the world. i love him!!!

when xavier was just 4 days old, owen decided that he was ready to hold his baby brother:

New Home

xavier: new home. st. francis xavier was the founder of the jesuit order.

our baby xavier came into the world on the last day of july, making him the youngest of any soccer age bracket he may participate in. if he had waited one more day, daddy would have been ecstatic that his 4th baby boy would be the oldest in his soccer league. perhaps the date of his arrival speaks to his character.

xavier ambrosio agustin
born july 31, 2009, 7:55 a.m.
7 lb. 9 oz.
21 inches

just like his brothers, he came with a full set of hair. he looks just like the rest of them...it's as if i had the same baby four times. :)

he was born at the brand spankin' new henry ford west bloomfield hospital. the room was beautiful, the service was great, the food was great, the doctors and nurses were great...we really could not have asked for a more pleasant experience. kimmie even treated me to a pedicure from the hospital's spa. they came up to the room and gave me my awesome pedicure just hours after i had xavier. sweet! if you're going to have a baby, pick an ob that delivers at henry ford west bloomfield.

his brothers were SO excited to meet him. they have been fantastic with him...even owen, who i didn't expect to take to the new baby well. they all want to hold him and give him kisses. i can't wait for him to get big enough to run around with isaiah, ethan and owen. until then, we will hold him and cuddle with him before he is able to squirm away from our hugs and kisses!
