Me: Are you my Chubby?
Xavier: Yup!
Me: But ARE you chubby?
Xavier: Nope!
Oh how much I love my chubbadoo! He is four years old in a blink. He picks out his clothes and verifies with me that he is, indeed, wearing his own clothes. "I checked, Mom, and it's mine because I saw the FOUR." Yes, Xav, you wear a size 4 except you are growing so fast that you should probably be in a 5.
"Remember a whole time ago?"...
He says that all the time. I love it. He also misses me when I'm gone for twenty minutes. He is the only one who greets me with such enthusiasm: "MAMA! I missed you!" I missed you, too, buddy.
He is such a goof. It's hard to keep a straight face sometimes when he starts getting goofy during nighttime prayers. One of my favorite things about him right now is that he sings during Mass. And loud. Love. It. So cute.
We are working on all of his letters right now. Today was D for "dinosaur."
Xav really loves baby Anthony. Whenever Anthony gets upset he will offer his blanket or his belly button. Wait, did I say belly button? Yes, I did. Anthony comforts himself by rubbing his belly, so it only makes sense in Xav's head that showing kindness comes in the form of offering your belly button. It's so sweet but so inappropriate. I have to stop him sometimes because I don't want Anthony thinking that he can just go around touching other people's belly buttons.
Xavier is really good at drawing. He can mimic a lot of what other people draw, especially if you show him step by step. He also loves being able to hang with the big boys and has a fantastic imagination. Eric has some great stories of playing pretend with Xav. One time he was showing me how to play with his mini figures. He came up with the dialogue and the actions, and when it was time to play he said, "And now it's time for the show." He makes me smile like nothing else.
I think he is going to be a ninja turtle for Halloween.
